In my latest project at CIFP Virgen de Gracia, I developed MigasAmigas, a professional Bakery Virtual Shop designed to test the limits of WordPress and WooCommerce. This technical case study explores how to build a high-performance e-commerce site in Spain and Portugal, focusing on the synergy between Gutenberg, Elementor, and AI-driven design. As a developer and educator, my goal was to create a seamless user experience that bridges the gap between traditional local business and modern web architecture.
Why This Project?
As part of the Web Applications Development module (Desarrollo de Aplicaciones con Tecnologías Web), I was tasked with creating a robust, evaluable project. MigasAmigas is a fictional bakery «dummy» that serves as a sandbox for real-world scenarios: managing a diverse inventory of bread, pastries, and savory empanadas within a digital environment.
The Challenges: Mastering the Labyrinth
While my experience with the Coursera WordPress 101 course gave me the basics, the real challenge was the deep dive into WordPress’s native customization.
Unlike Elementor, which is highly intuitive, the native WordPress environment can be a bit of a labyrinth. It offers immense power but requires a steeper learning curve for advanced design. Overcoming this «non-intuitive» hurdle was the most satisfying part of the development process, as it allowed for a much cleaner code-base.

Building this Bakery with Virtual Shop has been an incredibly satisfying journey. WordPress remains a top-tier tool for creating high-caliber websites when combined with the right plugins for cybersecurity and optimization.
My next step? Integrating advanced SEO and GEO strategies into real-world client sites. Mastering local search visibility is crucial for turning a simple web project into a business success story.
